As September comes to a close, the gates to October are opening. I think we can all agree, that the fall brings a change of scenery for photography. For this shot above, I made use of the blur tool within Aperture 3. I wanted a sharper image, so I set my lens to f/8 only to sacrifice depth of field. During post I decided the background was too distracting from the focal point, in this case being the gate. I carefully brushed in the blur tool, and it made all the difference. The next time your working on an image that doesn’t have the right amount of depth, try utilizing the amazing little blur tool.
I really enjoyed shooting at Fort Mifflin, and so I leave you with the gates wide open to the future.

Lenny - Love it dude! Excellent composition. I love the lines, detail, perspective oh and the terror. As a Christian, I see the cross juxtaposed with the entry gate of what seems to be judgement day. Reminds me when Jesus said in John 14:6 “…no one can come to the Father except through Me”
Igor Alecsander - Fantastic shot Scott!
