Lately, I’m becoming more proficient in my B&W LE post production work. I call this image Reincarnation because it’s a re-edit on an image I posted a year ago called Still:Life. Before my trip to Eleuthera Bahamas last November, I picked up the ND 10-Stop filter by B+W. I was really enjoying working with this filter for the first time, but I hadn’t yet been inspired by any real great long exposure work like the images I see on Google+, so my post processing at that time was mediocre at best! Because of the grand inspiration over the last few months or so, I decided to revisit some LE’s I took on my trip and this one needed some attention! I tried a square crop on this one after completion, but it just wasn’t working for me. The wide view really was necessary to give the image scale and impact, not to mention fitting in all the cloud movement. I’m not sure this image came out as sharp as I would of liked it, mainly because of the 30-40 m.p.h. sustained winds during most of my trip. All in all as I hesitated to post this image today, this is a common feeling I get and when I do the images resonate better with the viewers than I had thought.

Brian Furbush - LOVE what you did with the re-edit here Scott – so much more striking with the bright foreground and moody, contrasty clouds. Sick shot.
Edith Levy - Glad you decide to post this Scott. It’s fantastic. I love the movement of the clouds and the glassy look of the water.
LensScaper - Marvelous movement in the sky. I can’t spot a problem with sharpness at all. This is a super B&W image.
Mike Criswell - Love those clouds, well done Scott
Curt Fleenor - I really like the feel of this version. There is so much more contrast and detail in the clouds and the foreground!
john - Seriously awesome shot. Love the foreground here just drags you into the scene and doesn’t let go! Great job
chris maskell - I just love what you have done with this edit, Scott. For me black and white needs contrast. It adds drama and detail, the contrast here is spot on and the clouds are awesome but what strikes me is the balance between the foreground and sky.
Chris Maskell - Freat image Scott. I love a nice contrasty B & W shot, LE is an added bonus and this is full of contrast from the wonderful clouds to the detail rich rocks.
A.Barlow - Beautiful work as always. Those clouds look awesome. Like how the shadows are deep yet inviting.
Dave DiCello - Wow Scott, this is nothing short of amazing man!
