Standing Tall Against The Wind

59th Street Pier Ocean City New Jersey, Scott Frederick Photography

Nikon D7000, Nikkor 17-55 f/2.8, 24mm, f/16, ISO 100, 230 Seconds, B+W ND110+106

Last weekend the family and I decided to visit the in-laws in Ocean City, New Jersey. Luckily, I had the opportunity to revisit one of my favorite spots. The 59th Street Pier. I took this shot around 2:00pm and during this time of day I prefer to shoot with 16 stops of reduction, so I stacked the B+W ND110 + ND106 together to allow for this 230 second high noon exposure.

Dave DiCello - Now that is just rockin’ Scott. Got my 10 stop yesterday. Posted a few shots, but there weren’t a ton of clouds in the sky. Can’t wait to put it through its paces. Thanks for the inspiration man!

Scott Anderson - It’s not difficult to tell you like this spot, and for good reason. I love, love, love these shots. Let’s hope they never take this pier down…!

michael anthony murphy - hey. i came across your blog via another blog. totally forget which it was. kelby maybe. not sure. anyway. i’m also a philly photographer. i dig your work. this shot, in particular, caught my attention. the reason being is that i’ve been wanting to shoot that delapidated pier. I’ve done some surf fishing from that beach and have stared at that pier conemplating how i would like to shoot it. well done.
