Captivity

Trenton State Hospital, Forst Building, Scott Frederick Photography, Urbex, HDR, Kirkbride

Nikon D7000, Nikkor 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5, 13mm, f/8, ISO 100

Today’s shot is from yesterday’s exploration, which was a success in every way. When shooting in these environments, it takes a solid plan and a solid group of explorers to achieve a peaceful mission! Some people visit these abandoned locations for the thrill of being there. Honestly, if it wasn’t for photography I don’t know how eager I’d be to enter… I’m very passionate about creating this body of work, not to mention I enjoy flipping the switch during post production. But, how could I do this differently?  This image represents a new way to merge multiple brackets. The new Lightroom 4.1 handles 32-bit Float Point Tiff files saved from Photomatix Pro perfectly. Give it a try!

Wayne - Good to hear you had a successful mission!

I think I know where this was taken; I have it on my list of places to visit.

I remember that tiger poster from my youth, it adds a nice pop of vibrant colors.

I’m an avid Lightroom fan, but I’m not familiar with merging multiple brackets, sounds interesting, I gotta check it out.

- Gregory Allen Deese - [...] Captivity – a fabulous shot straight from the studio of Scott Frederick awaits the viewer.  An abandoned room well into its phase of decay is presented here with just incredible textures and details to enjoy.  It sort of reminds me of my bedroom when I was younger, only tidier… [...]
