Abandoned Theater (Backstage)

Abandoned Philadelphia Theater

Nikon D7000, Nikkor 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5, 10mm, f/11, ISO 200

The backstage area of this abandoned theater was speaking to me.  The way the sunlight was shining in created a no brainer kind of shot!  Just point up and shoot! Minus the lens flare, which is something I try to avoid 99% of the time, I’m really happy with the way I captured the light rays!  I really hope this location is restored and legally it has to, but that doesn’t mean the current owners won’t let it go to waste.  They have no intentions on restoration.  They are interested in selling it though, any takers?

Stacy Butera - Beautiful Scott, old theatres are such windows into our past. How we entertained ourselves. Moments shared. Sure do hope this one gets restored.

Jim Denham - This is way cool Scott! It reminds me of something from like Blade Runner! Great angle and mixture of textures!

Mark Garbowski - Look up, look behind you, change your camera height. Such simple tools but they almost always work and yet we (or at least I) keep seeming to forget them now and again. Well done.

Toad Hollow Photography - You must be getting tired of my superlatives, Scott, especially because you see so many of them… but WOW, dude, this is fan-flippin-tastic! I just love your unique perspective on this one, what a great picture!

Chris Maskell - I just love the angle here Scott. Too many people don’t bother to look up or down, just the same old static viewpoint from eye level. This angle makes for a dynamic shot and coupled with the converging verticals and light rays really rocks.

Matthew Barker - I would so love to own a theatre but I have not the means to buy one let alone restore it! Great shot!
